To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first Yves-Saint-Laurent fashion show, an exhibition is being displayed in six Parisian museums.
6 parisian cultural institutions
The Louvre, the Pompidou Center, the Picasso Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and of course the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. This incredible group of Parisian cultural institutions will participate in a large joint exhibition around the French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. From January 29 to May 15, 2022, these 6 museums come together for the exhibition Yves Saint Laurent aux Musées, a multidisciplinary retrospective on the influence and the relationship of the creator on the arts.

The different facets of Yves Saint-Laurent
On the program, the couturier’s mythical creations and works inspired by his work will mingle in a great celebration of Fashion. The couturier was just 26 years old when he signed his first collection on January 29, 1962 under his own name. He immediately imposed a spirit but also a style. Through his models, a whole culture, a whole artistic universe is expressed. Because in his creative power, Yves Saint Laurent reinvents, with rigor and fantasy, all the plastic heritage of the world. From this perspective, this vast exhibition project envisages the creation of Yves Saint Laurent, as crossed by different cultures and temporalities. Each museum takes a personal look at Yves Saint Laurent’s creative journey, his career, his life, his works. This monumental project thus makes it possible to shed light on the different facets of the creator, while bringing the spotlight back to all the art forms put forward in Parisian art institutions.
