The Paris Book Festival takes place from April 21 to 23, 2023. This year, It will honor Italy and its talented authors
More than 3,000 authors
This Parisian event replaces the former Salon du Livre de Paris, created in 1981. It honors the world of publishing, brings together more than 3,000 authors and around 160,000 visitors each year. Once again this year, the Paris 2023 Book Festival awaits you at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, located at 2 Place Joffre in the capital.
Many authors, publishers and booksellers will be there to celebrate all books, and reading in all its forms. In addition, filmmakers, actors, visual artists, musicians… will also be invited to take part in this great celebration of culture and reading, between musical readings, drawing meetings and writing workshops. This year, Italian literature will be honored at the Paris Book Fair. Many of you are already under the spell of Elena Ferrante, dreamy by following Hugo Pratt and melancholy by reading Dino Buzzati, and this invitation will renew the interest of all French readers for Italian letters.

Several literary prizes
Who says Festival, says award ceremony. The Paris Book Festival is no exception and several literary prizes will punctuate the event.
Let’s start with the one awarded by high school students in the Île-de-France region. This original jury, made up of more than 1,200 high school students, will award its prizes for the authors of the books studied throughout the year for its 12th edition.
And there will be many others: the monthly Marie Claire will award its novel prize; the Marcel Gotlib Prize will celebrate irreverence in comics; the Marco Polo Prize an Italian novelist and his French translator.
