It was one of the most anticipated events of the Directors’ Fortnight, during the last Cannes Film Festival. The return to France of Mia Hansen-Løve, after her English-speaking getaway with the movie Bergman Island. For Un Beau Matin, the filmmaker brought together Léa Seydoux and Melvil Poupaud in a bitter love story. This movie was one of the favorites of the festival, and even of the year. It is to be discovered in cinemas on October 5, 2022.

A bitter love story
In Un beau matin, the drama of a dying life coexists with the fire of a loving passion. We follow Sandra, a young mother raising her daughter alone. She often visits her sick father, Georg, who is losing his sight, memory and words. While embarking with her family on an obstacle course to get him treated, Sandra meets Clément, a long-lost friend…

Mia Hansen Love, the director
Mia Hansen-Løve was born in 1981. An actress with Olivier Assayas, she entered a drama conservatory in 2001, while pursuing Germanic studies. In 2003, she collaborated with Cahiers du Cinéma, until 2005. At the same time, she wrote her first film, Tout est pardonné (Directors’ Fortnight, Louis-Delluc prize for best first film). Seven other films follow, including The Future, Silver Bear in Berlin, and Bergman Island, in Competition at Cannes in 2021.
