Inspired by the Parisian avant-garde

Italian designer, Elsa Schiaparelli was inspired by her privileged relationship with artists from the Parisian avant-garde milieu of the 1920s and 1930s. Her work is audacious, inspiring and revisited throughout this exhibition in order to make you rediscover his taste for the show, his modernity and his artistic fantasy. In an inventive and theatrical scenography by Nathalie Crinière, the Schiaparelli retrospective brings together the creations of the fashion house and their preparatory sketches. Here, in the middle of the 6,387 collection drawings donated to MAD, are presented the evening cape, which is adorned with a Medusa head imagined by Christian Bérard and embroidered by Lesage, and the archives illustrating the stages of this emblematic creation.
