The café de Flore is legendary, it has been the place for all literary meetings and philosophical debates for almost 50 years. It opened its doors in 1887. Around 1913, Guillaume Appolinaire settled there and transformed the ground floor into an editorial room. He created the magazine “Les soirées de Paris”. In the 1930s, it was the turn of writers, painters and intellectuals to take over the premises. Simone de Beauvoir, Jacques Prévert, Jean-Paul Sartre were among the regulars of the Flora.
