Two oscars for CODA
Coda won the Oscar for best movie in 2022. This feature film directed by Sian Heder is the adaptation of a very French success, “La Famille Bélier“. This Franco-American dramatic fiction thus retraces the daily life of Ruby, the daughter of deaf parents and the only hearing person in her home, who discovers a passion and a talent for singing.

More than 7.4 million spectators
Coda won two more Oscars in 2022 : Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur and Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2015, La Famille Bélier had attracted more than 7.4 million spectators and Louane Emera had won the César for Best Female Hope. The American version – whose title is an acronym for “child of deaf adult” – cast the young Englishwoman Emilia Jones (19 years old) and seen in Locke & Key) in the main role. Coda is a movie available since August 13, 2021 only on streaming, since it was not released in French theaters in France. You must have an Apple TV+ account to find out.
