A love letter

Isabel Toledo designed the yellow dress that Michelle Obama wore during the inauguration of her husband, Barack Obama . This Cuban-American designer who lived in New York died of breast cancer three years ago. Her husband, artist and fashion illustrator Ruben Toledo, worked with her for over 40 years. Their collaboration has been immortalized by the greatest photographers like Karl Lagerfeld’s kiss. Today, A Love letter is the first posthumous exhibition of the designer’s work . The opportunity to trace the history of this couple of Cuban immigrant artists.

Uniques pices and dresses

It is the SCAD Lacoste installed in the Lubéron which welcomes this tribute. This art and design school, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, presents unique pieces, dresses from the couple’s private collection. SCAD trains the creators of tomorrow Nestled in the heart of the Luberon, Lacoste in the Vaucluse has been home to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2002, one of the most prestigious schools of art and design. 80 students come to study in this charming village of 400 souls where the university has acquired around fifty historic buildings which it has renovated, without however distorting the heritage. The Provençal campus is showing great longevity since it is celebrating its 20th birthday this year.
