Venice

An unprecedented digital exhibition

Venice like you’ve never seen it before ! This is what Le Grand Palais Immersif offers through an unprecedented digital exhibition, Venice Revealed, from September 21, 2022 to February 19, 2023. This exhibition highlights the miracle that is the invention of Venice. An engineering and architectural miracle, but also an artistic miracle. A city, built on the unstable mud of a lagoon, which has struggled for centuries against the sea; a ruthless threat that was also the source of his immense wealth. The route proposes to cross the walls and see what is hidden there, (re)discover Saint Mark’s Square and its Basilica or the Doge’s Palace, examine the details of masterpieces by the greatest Venetian painters in gigapixel…

Venice

The visitor switches from real to digital

All the images of the exhibition are taken from a massive 3D model, made using drones in 2021, which reconstructs, thanks to photogrammetry technology, the entire city of Venice in volume. This virtual universe recomposes with precision both the urban space, the architecture of the palaces and the details of the paintings inside. Throughout the journey, the visitor switches from real to digital, and vice versa. To do this, the images are deployed in space, in video, on monumental panels, creating a depth to the image in which the public enters or disappears. “Venice Revealed” at the Immersive Grand Palais, 110 rue de Lyon, Paris 12th – From September 21, 2022 to February 19, 2023
