The Wizard of Oz, this classic for young and old, will be performed on the stage of the Théâtre des enfants du Paradis in Paris.

A timeless masterpiece
This famous musical comes from the novel by Frank Lyman Baum, written in 1900, and interpreted in cinema for the first time by Judy Garland. Dorothée and her dog Toto are swept away by a violent tornado which deposits their house in a strange country, located somewhere beyond the rainbow, “Somewhere over the rainbow“. There is only one way to return home and find her loved ones: go to the Emerald City, ask for help from the Great Wizard of Oz. Her long journey puts a brainless scarecrow, a heartless woodcutter, and a heartless lion in his path, all seeking the Magician’s happiness and help. A timeless masterpiece with worldwide success, The Wizard of Oz takes us into a magical world where friendship, solidarity, self-confidence, surpassing oneself, dreams are the cobblestones of this initiatory journey.
Transported to the land of Oz
A sober staging is enough to create the dream. With a tulle curtain, colored lighting, very appropriate dialogues and songs without a microphone, young audiences are simply transported to the land of Oz. The Théâtre des Enfants du Paradis is located right next to the Folies Bergères, in the 9th arrondissement. With a varied program, it offers drama, comedy, shows for young audiences, musicals…
