The largest terrace in Paris is located at La Défense in the heart of an open-air space of more than 1000m².

Perched on the 35th floor of the Grande Arche

To access this splendid terrace, perched on the 35th floor of the Grande Arche, take one of the 4 panoramic elevators. You are then closer to the sky, 110 meters high on a promenade bridge that crosses the building in the continuity of the historic axis of the capital. Paris is then revealed to you in all its majesty and its architectural diversity. In the distance, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse Tower and the Louis Vuitton Foundation, Mont Valérien… But also in the foreground, on the forecourt of La Défense, 69 monumental pieces including the Stabile by Calder, the Pouce by César or even works by Joan Miró as if exhibited in a huge open-air museum … enough to turn people and heads.

Window to the world

This huge rooftop also hosts a 1200 m² exhibition space, the first space dedicated to photojournalism and news photography. L’Arche du Photojournalisme offers an annual program of exhibitions, meetings and retrospectives which, in connection with current events, honor great French and international reporters. An invitation to question ourselves and take a new look at the world around us.

At the top of La Grande Arche, you will discover what is now the largest terrace in Paris. A 100 m long promenade bridge crosses the building in the very continuity of the historic axis.
From there, you can see the great monuments that have forged the identity of the capital, from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. But it is also a view of the largest open-air museum in France with 69 monumental pieces exhibited on the forecourt of La Défense, including Calder’s Stabile and Caesar’s Thumb.
