Alice Taglioni publishes “Un pere vivant”. A novel in which she returns to the sudden disappearance of her young son’s father around ten years ago.

Inspired by the brutal death of Jocelyn Quivrin, her partner
We knew her as an actress and musician, now she is an author. Alice Taglioni took up her pen to write “Un pere vivant” (A Living Dad), a novel which was released on November 16, in which she features a little boy who wants, as a birthday present for his 7th birthday, a pirate costume but also to have a dad. “He knows that his mother is not in gold but he hopes that she will be able to buy him all that. After all, a dad doesn’t have to cost very much, since everyone has one,” specifies the synopsis. For this book, the actress was inspired by her own story. In 2009, she had to face the brutal death of Jocelyn Quivrin, her partner and father of her first child who was only a few months old at the time of the tragedy.

A declaration to my loved ones
“It’s a declaration to my loved ones who were there before, those who are there after (…) Without telling me, I wanted us to feel the fear of this young woman who finds herself facing the loss of her husband with a very small baby and who, in addition to being confronted with the unspeakable, must also face the fear of those close to her, the bowed heads, the embarrassed words…”, she explains in Elle magazine. “My dream would be that this book could bring a little comfort, a little hope, she first declared before continuing: We can turn painful pages and move towards a sweet, peaceful, happy future. Life is beautiful !”. Wishing above all to share “an ode to life” and “a thank you” to those she loves, the actress wanted, with this writing, to help others by giving the lesson she learned from this period of her life : “Even when such things happen to us, one day we want to dance again, to love, to live. We have the right to smile all the same. Because life is a gift and we must give thanks,” she said. A newfound happiness that she now experiences with her partner and their blended family.
