Frederic Beigbeder is on stage at the Théatre Edouard VII in Paris for a reading of texts by different authors who have one thing in common: Love.

Love remains a mystery and a miracle
“Love Lasts 1h15 ” begins a panorama of love literature, its beauty, its madness, its suffering and its joy. In a poetic and sincere reading, and accompanied in music by the pianist Émile Fournier, the author of Love lasts three years Frédéric Beigbeder tirelessly seeks the answer to the question: what is it really, ‘Love ? With, in the end, the observation that love remains a mystery and a miracle, impossible to unravel, and an immortal inspiration.
” I need some money” said Beigbeder
The least we can say is that the author of the book ” 99 Francs” did not show any language. “Well, I’m a student of French literature !”, he said with humor. Before specifying the price of tickets to attend his performance: “From 46 to 23 euros. Sorry, but I need some money. » The tone is set and Frédéric Beigbeder has decided to approach the financial aspect without taboos. “I’m not afraid to say it, I sold a lot of books in the 2000s, a little less in the 2010s, today it’s working properly, but it’s no longer what it was . “, he explained to the newspaper “L’Obs”
Frederic Beigbeder published his first novel, “Memories of a Disturbed Young Man” at age 24 in 1990. In 1994 his second novel, “Vacances dans le coma“, appeared, then in 1997 “”, which closes Marc Marronnier’s trilogy. Followed by a collection of short stories published by Gallimard in 1999, “Nouvelles sous ecstasy”. The following year, Beigbeder was fired for serious misconduct from Young & Rubicam shortly after the publication of his satirical novel “99 Francs”, which exposed the flaws of advertising. This novel was adapted for the cinema by Jan Kounen in 2007. Frédéric Beigbeder runs the parallel sections in the Grand Journal de Cannes in 2008. He presents his cinematic favorites. In 2003, he won the Interallié prize for “Windows on the World” and in 2009, the Renaudot prize for his book “Un roman français”.
