Flower Power is an exhibition currently taking place at the Musée des Impressionistes in Giverny. The opportunity to admire works by Eugène Delacroix, Édouard Manet and Paul Cézanne.

Inaugurated in February 2023 in Munich, the Flower Power exhibition is now continuing in the galleries of the Impressionism Museum in Giverny. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, books, designer dresses and decorative arts objects follow one another and bring together the great masters – Eugène Delacroix, Édouard Manet and Paul Cézanne – during a thematic tour of history of the flower over the centuries.

What is the symbolism of the flower over the centuries ? Beyond aesthetics and poetry, what messages did the artists seek to convey through the floral motif ? Flower Power offers to broaden our perspective thanks to thematic sections devoted to history and mythology, the relationship between science and art, religions, but also politics and the economy. The exhibition is the first project to present an interdisciplinary, intercultural and international vision of the history of flowers. It will bring together around a hundred works including masterpieces of paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, books, art objects, designer dresses, contemporary works and installations specially designed for museum galleries. This fall, the Museum of Impressionism is taking on a challenge: to make Giverny bloom until winter !
