Kate Barry, and her sublime photographs of celebrities are the subject of an exhibition not to be missed on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of her death.

The Quai de la Photo pays tribute to the photographer Kate Barry (1967-2013), in order to show the diversity of her work. This exhibition of 80 photos will allow you to discover the extent of her work through her emblematic projects and her favorite themes : melancholy landscapes, fashion, portraits and in particular the way she looked at her family.
The work My Own Space by Sylvain Besson published this year by Éditions de La Martinière gave its name to the photographer’s exhibition at the Nicéphore Niépce museum in Chalon-sur-Saône, to which the family entrusted the all of its negatives, its contact sheets, its digital archives, a large selection of prints (the remainder being hosted by the National Library of France). The Nicéphore Niépce museum is today sharing the “My Own Space” exhibition with Quai de la Photo to allow the Parisian public to discover the fragile and poetic work of Kate Barry.

This exhibition of 80 photos occupies the two levels of Quai de la Photo for more than 3 months and takes place in two stages : from December 15 to February 5 then from February 7 to March 20. The opportunity to discover the full extent of Kate Barry’s work through her emblematic projects and her favorite themes: melancholic landscapes, fashion, portraits and in particular the way she looked at her family…
Mainly known for her portraits of figures from the worlds of music, cinema and fashion which she photographs as part of commissions for the press, Kate Barry asserts herself as a complete photographer, which cannot be limited to this one practice. Above all, Kate Barry evolves within a family environment where image (and in particular photography) is omnipresent.
