Carette Place des Vosges : a timeless café

Carette is installed under the emblematic arcades of the Place des Vosges, a sumptuous setting decorated by Hubert de Givenchy, the nephew of Monsieur Givenchy.

Mixing classicism with the Roaring Twenties style.

The story of Carette took shape one fine day in 1927. At that time, Jean Carette and his wife Madeleine moved to Place du Trocadéro, opening their eponymous pastry shop there. But why do we enjoy going to Carette’s so much? Far from going there haphazardly, we rush there to discover one of the most beautiful pastries in Paris. If over the years, Carette has remained true to itself through its simple, warm welcome and its know-how, at the turn of the century, the legendary pastry shop was given to a little beauty. From then on, Parisians were able to marvel at its decor divinely mixing classicism with the Roaring Twenties style.

First installed on Place du Trocadéro, this pastry shop-tea room now has its headquarters in the Marais, more precisely on the famous Place des Vosges. If you want to brunch in an exceptional setting and enjoy French know-how: reserve your table at Carette and open the doors of this sweet paradise. Relaxation and awakening of the senses guaranteed!
Every day, Carette offers its tasty and harmonious brunch formula. To start off in style, don’t miss the hot chocolate, the house’s essential specialty. Then, fresh fruit juice, a pastry or pastries, toasts served with butter and jams as well as scrambled eggs (with herbs, ham, plain, cheese or tomato) will make up the rest of the menu. Once your brunch is over, take the opportunity to visit Victor Hugo’s house or go for a stroll near the Bastille.
