Zaho de Sagazan, this name is on everyone’s lips as the French music victories approach in which she is nominated 5 times !

The 24-year-old singer started music at 13 years
It’s the darling of the prestigious Victoires de la Musique ceremony, which France 2 is broadcasting this Friday, February 9, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. Album of the year, song of the year, female revelation, stage revelation, audiovisual creation: Zaho de Sagazan is in the lead with five nominations, in flagship categories. The 24-year-old singer started music at 13 years. Bathed in French variety, she fell under the spell of Jacques Brel and Barbara. Growing up, she became passionate about electronic music of the 1980s, from krautrock, a German progressive, experimental and psychedelic rock, to synthwave.

In front of Pharrell Williams
During her childhood in Saint-Nazaire, Zaho de Sagazan practiced dance intensively, up to seven hours a week. Since the age of 13, Zaho has locked herself in her room to tell, through music, her vision of the world. Her need to create is evident within a family of artists. But, despite her joyful assonant first name, Zaho was, at the time, prey to a deep melancholy, without knowing the reason. The composition, the singing, the lyrics will help her channel her waves of emotions. She began her musical career, like many young artists, by broadcasting song cover videos on Instagram from 2015. Zaho de Sagazan also included some original compositions.
In 2023, Zaho de Sagazan revealed herself to the French public with her first album, La symphonie des éclairs. An album certified gold after reaching the threshold of 50,000 copies sold. A success which has earned her five nominations for the 2024 Victoires de la Musique, which will take place on February 9. A talent that even seduced Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women’s fashion at Louis Vuitton. We heard the music of Zaho de Sagazan resounding during the spring-summer 2024 collection show last October, in front of a conquered Pharrell Williams, on the guest bench.
