Around 1913, Guillaume Appolinaire settled there and transformed the ground floor into an editorial room. He created the magazine "Les soirées de Paris". In the 1930s, it was the turn of writers, painters and intellectuals to take over the premises. Simone de Beauvoir, Jacques Prévert, Jean-Paul Sartre were among the regulars of the Flora.
