Did you know that the Centre Georges Pompidou offered one of the most beautiful views of Paris? Plus, admission is free to enjoy the view.
We are well aware of the view of Paris from the Butte Montmartre, the Montparnasse tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the terrace of the Lafayettes galleries, but we are less familiar with that of the Centre George Pompidou . Yet this museum offers us a panoramic view of the Sacred Heart to the Eiffel Tower, enough to take pretty pictures and take the opportunity to admire the works of the museum.
An avant-garde museum
The Center Pompidou, created by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, is an architectural marvel of the 20th century, recognizable by its exterior escalators and enormous colored pipes. It houses the National Museum of Modern Art, a world benchmark for its 20th and 21st century art collections. The works of essential artists are distributed chronologically, over two spaces: the modern period from 1905 to 1960 (Matisse, Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Dubuffet …) and the contemporary period from 1960 to the present day (Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, Anish Kapoor…). In addition to these permanent collections, internationally renowned exhibitions are held throughout the year on the top floor.
