The 47th Cesar ceremony will take place on Friday February 25, 2022. On this occasion, a tribute will be paid to one of the most popular French actors in France, Jean-Paul Belmondo.
Animated by Antoine de Caunes
After the coronation of Adieu les cons, by Albert Dupontel, who had won seven Césars, in 2021, during a ceremony with a leaden atmosphere and marked by the happening of Corinne Masiero, how will the 47th edition of the Cesar? Despite a still fragile context due to the pandemic, but also caused by controversy, will the Cesar 2022 ceremony take place with more lightness ? Among the nominees, who will win the precious trophy ? This is the tenth time that Antoine de Caunes has donned the costume of loyal master of the Cesars, becoming the personality most in demand to animate the ceremony.

The year of women ?
The year 2022 will perhaps be marked by the coronation of a woman. In fact, three women are nominated in the best director category : Valérie Lemercier for Aline (ten nominations including that of best actress for Valérie Lemercier), Audrey Diwan for L’évêque (4 nominations and Golden Lion at Venice) and Julia Ducournau for Titane (4 nominations and Palme d’Or at the last Cannes festival). In addition, another woman will have the lights pointed on her: Cate Blanchett. The 52-year-old Australian actress will receive an honorary Cesar for her entire career.
A tribute to Belmondo and Gaspard Ulliel
The César 2022 pay a new tribute to a deceased actor, and not the least: Jean-Paul Belmondo. Considered one of the greatest legends of French cinema, the actor who died last September illuminates this official poster in a triptych from Pierrot le Fou, directed by Jean-Luc Godard. Three moments of complicity and love shared with the late Anna Karina, and which illustrate how the emotions aroused by an actress, an actor and a film succeed in anchoring themselves in our memories. A tribute is also planned for actor Gaspard Ulliel, who died last January in a skiing accident.
The list of nominations
