A show devoted to dance

In this show entirely devoted to dance, to all dances, the codes mix, the music mixes, the talent is always there. For Marie and Raph, whose cultures oppose – one is a classical dancer, the other lives only by hip-hop – received ideas collide but it is sensuality and performance that will lead their story. Two opposite planets that will meet. Diamond Dance is a show masterfully orchestrated by a troupe of 20 dancers that combines madness, magic and harmony. The visual effects are unforgettable. Add live musicians, viola, violin, cello and it’s a communicative desire to dance that will carry you away. And it is in the heart that will resonate the words of Maurice Béjart who affirms that “Dance is a minimum of explanations and a maximum of emotions”…

Sexy Dance is at the origin of the project

At the origin of this project, there is the success of a film released in 2006, Sexy Dance. Signed Anne Fletcher, this romance on a dance background had revealed actor Channing Tatum. He played a young delinquent, a hip-hop virtuoso, who meets a classical dancer in a prestigious dance school where he does community service. The film had five other parts, the last of which was released in 2019. Producer Nicolas Ferru had the idea of transposing this story on stage, entrusting the staging to Julie Dayan and Michaël Xerri who have already proven themselves on the hit show Soy de Cuba. Created in 2011, it was inspired by the true story of young Cuban Ayala Yanetsy Mojeron, who left for Havana to become a professional dancer.

Kylie Minogue’s dancer

On the choreographic side and to stay in the spirit of the show, they called on a classical dancer, Bernard Horry, from the dance school of the Paris Opera, and Sophiane Boukabache, who practices high-level hip – choreographic hop. The two main roles are played by Benjamin Akl and Andie Masazza. The first danced with Kylie Minogue, then in the musicals Résiste, Priscilla Folle du Désert and finally Dirty Dancing where he played the main role. As for Andie, she is a classical dancer who started practicing at the age of three, without ever stopping. Trained at the Conservatory, she joined a Junior Ballet before leaving to work in a contemporary company in Montreal for three years.
