Phoenix band is back ! The French band from Versailles unveils its new single to prepare the ground before its new album.

Alpha Zulu inspired by a flight
In 2017, the Phoenix, the band from Versailles gave us the album Ti Amo. Three years later, in 2020, Phoenix signed Identical, soundtrack to On the Rocks (film by Sofia Coppola). We had to be patient before finding them but it’s official, Phoenix is coming back to us in music but also, on stage! “Alpha Zulu” was inspired by the leader of Phoenix by his fear of flying and those two words he heard repeated by a pilot during a flight in the middle of a storm.
Between dreamlike and fantastic
“Alpha Zulu” was composed at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and at the Louvre in full confinement. “During the pandemic, it was a bit more of a mess (laughs) and we liked that, there are exhibitions that couldn’t be done, that were out of step and for a while the studio was used to store works , a real shock of cultures quite inspiring”. This work environment releases a perfume between dreamlike and fantastic. “The night watchmen who work there are all convinced that there are ghosts and I want to believe them, there is a third dimension to the museum”.
Finalizing their seventh album
Confided Thomas Mars, singer of the group. Phoenix is currently finalizing their seventh album. As of now, no official date has been announced. But let the French fans be reassured, Phoenix intends to perform on stage in the days to come. This new single “Alpha Zulu” will certainly be on the program of the Phoenix festival tour. After a concert in Nîmes this Wednesday, the band will be at the Art Rock and We Love Green festivals on June 3 and 4 before a show at the Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon on June 10. In October, Phoenix will also be on the bill at the famous Austin City Limits festival in Texas, alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
