A croissant and a hamburger don’t seem to go together, and yet a restaurant has specialized in this perfect culinary couple !

A culinary curiosity

One is typically French, the other the emblem of the United States, but together they delight the taste buds of a new restaurant, Aupa Caminito, a friendly street food restaurant located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. This Franco-American mix is called the Croger and it’s a safe bet that this culinary curiosity will spread outside of Paris given the success of this restaurant. Imagine a warm, golden and crunchy croissant, stuffed with brasserie ingredients such as marinated beef bourguignon simmered for 9 hours, veal in blanquette or Réunion sausage rougail.

A dozen of recipes

For the Crogers, you have a dozen recipes to choose from, many of which are vegetarian. Otherwise, bet on shredded recipes – beef bourguignon, pulled pork, basquaise chicken, veal blanquette – in Croger, or, less unusual, recipes around charcuterie – roast beef, roast turkey, pastrami, white ham – all equally delicious. For each : croissant bread, homemade mayonnaise, pickles, tomato, cheese, before adding a generous layer of shredded meat, or nice slices of charcuterie. Count between €7.90 (vegetarian Croguer) and €11.90 for the Croguer. For indulgence, you can even accompany the Croger with a plate of potatoes bravas, potatoes seasoned to perfection, which you dip in mustard mayonnaise or herb mayo, again homemade.
