Harrison Ford will create the event at the Cannes Film Festival 2023 with the latest installment of the Indiana Jones saga.
15 years of absence in Cannes
It was the organization of the Cannes Film Festival itself that announced the news on April 3, 2023 on its website. “15 years after the presentation of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, directed by Steven Spielberg, the last part of the saga will be screened on Thursday May 18 in Cannes”. Awaited by all fans, this last chapter of the mythical saga promises a great epic adventure around the world. The movie will be released in France on June 28 and in the United States on June 30,” Disney announced in a joint press release with the Cannes Film Festival.

James Mangold as a director
In this new episode, Harrison Ford will be surrounded by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, John-Rhys Davies or even Shaunette Renee Wilson from the series The Resident. Behind the camera, Steven Spielberg gave way to James Mangold, the director of Walk The Line and Logan. In this 5th installment of the adventures of Indy, Harrison Ford will first appear digitally rejuvenated in what will be the opening sequence of the film. A leap in time will then be made by the story to take us to 1969, in full space conquest. It is to the emblematic music of John Williams that James Mangold and Harrison Ford will climb the Marches du Palais des Festivals alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen”, specifies the organization.
The 76th Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16 to 27, 2023.
