The Parc de la Villette wasteland “Jardin 21” returns from May 4 to September 30, 2023 with an intense program of gardening, music, committed markets, sport and parties.

Le Jardin21 is a former 19th century orchard transformed in 2018 into a vegetal, cultural and festive third place. Located on the banks of the Ourcq canal, on the border of Paris and Pantin, the Jardin21 offers every summer a cultural and festive program around its vegetable garden.

Among this year’s novelties, stand up with the arrival of the Greenwashing Comedy Club, gardening workshops every Saturday, upcycling and embroidery workshops and, in a completely different register, the promise of wild party nights with extended hours at 4am on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Urban agriculture & gardening for everyone

With nearly 1,850 m2 of outdoor space and market gardening, this third-place dedicated to urban agriculture offers completely free gardening workshops.

Tired of killing your green plants ? Want to introduce your children to the joys of the vegetable garden? Jeanne, the head gardener, will lead initiations every Saturday for children and adults. At the same time, several hundred kilos of fruit and vegetables are also harvested each season, part of which is reused in the kitchens of Jardin21…

Cultural & festive events all summer long

The Jardin21 teams have imagined a host of events: designer and second-hand markets, special days such as Neighbours’ Day (May 27) and Colombia Day (July 8 & 9), blind musical tests, or even
the residence of the new collective Minimum Effort, which will take over Jardin21 once a month to transform it into a temple of ambient music and chill.

Finally, a significant novelty this year for lovers of wild dancing: the guinguettes will now run until 4am on Friday and Saturday evenings, with the cream of disco & house collectives at the helm of the dancefloor.

Outdoor sports

Le Jardin21 also offers outdoor sports classes with off-the-beaten-track disciplines: qi gong (traditional Chinese gymnastics), parent-child and post-natal yoga or self-defense. In short, lots of sports activities to continue to do good during the summer !

Conviviality is also the soul of the Jardin21. It is indeed thought of as a real place of life, where you can also simply come and stroll at any time.
Le Jardin21 also thinks big in its dishes. In the spirit of a biergarten, the public will be able to gather around large tables. On the kitchen side, a menu of pleasures around street food to taste with your fingers!
