Flan is one of our simplest desserts. It is one of the traditional snacks that mothers prepare for their children. In addition to being simple, it requires few ingredients. So if this tempts you, here is the recipe !
Ingredients :
1 vanilla pod
90g cornstarch
150g granulated sugar
1 shortcrust pastry
1 liter milk
4 eggs

Instructions :
Bring the milk to a boil with the split vanilla pod (lengthwise).
Meanwhile, mix the cornstarch (sifted for better results) with the sugar.
Add the well-beaten eggs to the mixture.
Combine everything until smooth and homogeneous.
Gradually add the boiling milk (without the vanilla pod), stirring constantly.
Cook the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, for about 1 to 2 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (thermostat 6-7). Butter a rectangular or round baking dish and line it with the shortcrust pastry.
Prick the bottom of the pastry.
Pour the mixture into the pastry shell.
Smooth the surface.
Bake for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Allow to cool.
