Elegant Mascarpone & Salmon Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas (or lavash bread)
  • 8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 7 oz (200g) smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp capers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a bowl, whisk the mascarpone cheese with the heavy cream until smooth. Add the lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Assemble the roll: Lay out a tortilla and spread a generous layer of the mascarpone mixture. Arrange smoked salmon slices evenly on top. Sprinkle with capers if using.
  3. Roll it up: Gently roll the tortilla tightly, like a yule log. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for better flavor).
  4. Serve: Before serving, unwrap the roll and slice into 1-inch (2.5 cm) rounds. Arrange on a platter and garnish with extra dill or lemon zest.
