A la mère de famille, The oldest chocolate factory of Paris

You can't walk past it without admiring its window and wanting to buy everything there, "A la Mère de Famille" is the oldest chocolate factory in Paris. The history of À la Mère de Famille begins in 1761. The chocolate factory -confiserie has become over the centuries a real institution and also offers ice cream and pastries. The historic boutique and its listed façade, at the corner of the streets of the faubourg Montmartre and Richer, is worth a visit. Inside, it is a paradise for lovers of sweets: old-fashioned jars, nougats, bergamots, caramels, pralines or marshmallow squares. And why not let yourself be tempted, from November, to the house's candied chestnuts, considered to be the best in the capital. A monument ! Many other addresses exist in Paris.

The perfect recipe of French madeleines

The madeleine would have been created in 1755 in the castle of Commercy. King Stanislas of Poland received Voltaire and Madame de Châtelet there. For the occasion, the king asked his cook, Madeleine, to bake a unique cake. So she made cakes in the shape of a shell, which were appreciated by the guests. King Stanislaus of Poland appreciated them so much that he sent a package to his daughter Marie, wife of Louis XV. Marie fell under the spell of these cakes and decided to name them Madeleine, in homage to the one who had created them. The madeleine has since become an essential cake. It comes in different shapes: elongated, round or shell-shaped. Eaten as a snack or with friends, dipped in a bowl of hot chocolate, the madeleine is always a delight for young and old alike.

The perfect recipe of French madeleines

In these times of confinement, I have never cooked so much. Cooking has always been a passion for me, but right now I wanted to go back to recipes from my childhood, simple things that require very few ingredients. Here is one of my favorite recipes: Les Madeleines. I give you the recipe here: Ingredients for 24 madeleines: -3 eggs -150g of sugar -200g of flour -8 g baking powder - 100 g of melted butter - 50 g of milk In a container, pour the powdered sugar over the eggs. Add 3/4 of the milk Mix the flour and baking powder together. Add the melted butter and then the rest of the milk. Let sit for 30 minutes. Bake in buttered madeleine molds in an oven preheated to 250 ° C then kiss the temperature at 200 ° C. Cook for 10 minutes, until the pretty bump forms and they are golden. Cheers !

Mendiants, a Chocolate delight

I had some black chocolate in my kitchen so I decided to make some mendiants with It. It's very quick and simple to do and you can put everything you want on them : nuts, dried fruits, pistachios... I put praline roses, dried fruits and nuts on mine. I just melted some chocolate, and with a spoon I did some circles, and added some pralines roses, nuts and dried fruits and I put It in the fridge for 30 minutes and It's ready to eat !
