A super-production with a 5-star cast
The city of Champagne welcomes the director Martin Bourboulon and his teams to shoot part of the first film inspired by the novel by Alexandre Dumas.Troyes (Aube), a veritable city of cinema, is hosting the filming of The Three Musketeers, directed by Martin Bourboulon. A movie in two parts whose budget will reach a total of 70 million euros. With its half-timbered houses and narrow medieval streets, Troyes is adorned with 16th century attire. About twenty carpenters and painters are busy in the town centre. The assistant manager Mathieu Avolio explains how the fine team comes to hide the elements of modernity, gutter or intercoms. “We have small boxes which will be patinated and which will cover the elements”, he explains. “Troyes was chosen for the quality of its architecture “, says Mathieu Avolio, one of the assistant managers. “It has retained its medieval soul, it has the particularity of having kept its half-timbered houses, its cobbled streets. There is not much more to do to give its streets the patina of the 17th century than we we are looking for.”
