The sunday before Mardi Gras

Sunday February 27, 2022, the Carnival of Paris will move the capital. A dozen floats, dozens of puppets, hundreds of costumed characters and thousands of dancers and musicians will be there for this 24th edition. The Paris Carnival Promenade du Bœuf Gras usually takes place on the Sunday before Mardi Gras. The starting point for this unusual parade is on Place Gambetta, in the 20th arrondissement of the capital. The meeting is given from 1 p.m. before the procession sets off at 2 p.m., towards Place de la République.

Then meet on Sunday March 27, 2022, for the other traditional parade of the Carnival of Paris: the Carnival of Women, also called procession of the « Queens of Laundresses of Mi-Carême« . Meeting point from 1 p.m. place du Châtelet, for a departure at 3 p.m., with a loop circuit and a return at 6 p.m. Women are invited to dress up as queens and men as women, if they dare.
