Considered the Oscars of Tourism, the World Travel Awards reward excellence in all key sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality. After a first continental vote gratifying Lyon with the 2nd place of the most coveted European prize, a second global vote just unveiled distinguishes the Metropolis of Lyon in the category “World’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination”. It thus succeeds Colombo, the economic capital of Sri Lanka and promotes France by becoming the first destination to be discovered around the world in 2022.
